About

Built by creators.
For the ones in between.

Unplugged Studios was started by two podcast hosts who got tired of watching talented independent shows get ignored by the big networks and underpaid by the ad platforms. So they built the partner they always wanted.

§ 01 · Origin

The room where it started.

It started, as most good things do, with a conversation. Two hosts on a call that was supposed to be twenty minutes ran almost two hours. They were comparing notes on the same exact problem.

Ryan was building Finding Peak into a top show for operators and entrepreneurs who wanted frameworks, not fluff. Mick was building Mick Unplugged into a movement for leaders ready to move past the easy why and into the harder because. Different audiences. Same realization.

Independent podcasting is broken in the middle. Plenty of help for the absolute beginner. Plenty of attention for the top fifty shows. Almost nothing for the operator in between, the one with a real audience, a real point of view, and no real partner.

§ 02 · Ryan's lane

Finding Peak.

Ryan Hanley grew up in a town of nine hundred people in upstate New York and made a decision early that the town was not going to write his story. He has spent the last decade publishing weekly on Finding Peak, four hundred plus episodes deep, with features in Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur, and Fast Company.

His audience is operators. Founders, owners, executives who want raw conversations on leadership, discipline, and the actual cost of building something undeniable. They do not want theory. They want what works.

§ 03 · Mick's lane

Mick Unplugged.

Mick Hunt is a USA Today bestselling author, a Forbes Business Council and Coaches Council member, and the host of Mick Unplugged, the voice of Modern Leadership. His show challenges listeners to stop chasing their why and start owning their because.

His community shows up week after week to be coached, not coddled. Leaders, doers, and people building real impact in real lives. He has built the kind of trust most networks can only buy.

§ 04 · What they kept seeing

The middle was abandoned.

Both of them kept getting the same DMs. Talented podcasters with audiences in the tens of thousands and the hundreds of thousands. Real downloads. Real engagement. No monetization that paid like a real business. No production help that respected their voice. No community of peers at the same level.

The big networks did not return calls unless you were already famous. The ad networks paid cents on the dollar and treated shows like inventory. And building it solo meant turning artists into accountants overnight.

§ 05 · Why Unplugged

A network built by creators, for creators.

Unplugged Studios exists to be the partner the middle deserves. Brand deals you can actually close. Production support that respects your voice. Distribution that compounds across the roster. A bench of peers who have been in the chair, on the mic, and in the inbox at midnight.

Independent does not have to mean alone. That is the whole thesis. That is why Unplugged exists.

If this sounds like the partner you've been waiting for,
we should talk.
